BASIM KAMI

My inspiration for this work was art and its relation to fashion and design. To gain orientation I put my focus on the art of the 1930ies and 1940ies, which attracts me a lot. I dealt with the art genres Bauhaus and 

futurism and combined their specific elements. I adore the typical lineal style of Bauhaus artworks and the dynamic silhouettes of futuristic sculptures. due to the fact, that the basic ideas of Bauhaus and futurism are comparable, I decided to use clear and constructed elemantary forms according to Bauhaus and to fuse it wit futuristic and masculine influences to create tension and a kind of still standing motion. I have chosen the fabrics in the primary colours red, blue and yellow, which were often used by Bauhaus artists in addition to the elementary forms. It`s a reflection of the idea, that art is handwork and nessecarity.
